SEE ALSO...

MuSK Antibody (1-YD2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects MuSK protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MuSK antibody (1-YD2) is available as the non-conjugated format. MuSK (muscle-specific kinase) plays a crucial role in the formation and maintenance of the neuromuscular junction, which is essential for effective communication between motor neurons and skeletal muscle fibers. MuSK (1-YD2) monoclonal antibody recognizes a receptor tyrosine kinase primarily expressed in skeletal muscle and vital for the clustering of acetylcholine receptors at the neuromuscular junction, thereby facilitating muscle contraction. MuSK is expressed at low levels in proliferating myoblasts but significantly upregulates during terminal differentiation and myotube fusion, highlighting its importance in muscle development. During embryonic stages, MuSK is present in developing muscle tissues, but expression diminishes in mature muscle, where MuSK is predominantly found at the neuromuscular junction. The human MuSK gene is located on chromosome 9q31.3, overlapping a region associated with the Fukuyama muscular dystrophy mutation, underscoring its relevance in muscle-related disorders.
