SEE ALSO...

Munc13-4 Antibody (C-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Munc13-4 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Munc13-4 (C-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Munc13-4 is a crucial member of the Munc13 family, sharing homology with Munc13-1, but notably lacking the C1 domain and N-terminal extension found in other family members. Munc13-4 plays a significant role in regulating secretory lysosome fusion and exocytosis, particularly in immune cells such as cytotoxic T lymphocytes and mast cells, where Munc13-4 enhances the degranulation process. Munc13-4 is primarily localized to secretory lysosomes, which are essential for the release of cytotoxic granules in immune responses. Expression of Munc13-4 is predominantly observed in mucous goblet and alveolar type II cells of the lung, highlighting its importance in respiratory health. Mutations in Munc13-4 are linked to familial hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis subtype 3, underscoring its critical role in immune system function.
