Mucin 5B Antibody (4H310) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Mucin 5B (MUC5B) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). MUC5B antibody (4H310) recognizes a high molecular weight glycoprotein essential for forming protective mucus layers in various tissues, particularly in respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts. MUC5B (4H310) monoclonal antibody helps identify proteins that trap pathogens and particulate matter, serving as a first line of defense against infections and maintaining mucosal integrity. MUC5B is predominantly expressed in gallbladder and colon, with expression significantly upregulated during chronic inflammation, highlighting MUC5B′s importance in pathological conditions such as chronic otitis media and gastric cancer. Retinoic acid regulates MUC5B through retinoid acid receptors, demonstrating the connection between vitamin A metabolism and mucin production. Abnormal MUC5B expression in gastric carcinomatous tissues suggests potential use as a biomarker for cancer progression, making anti-MUC5B antibody (4H310) valuable for studying mucin biology and disease implications.
