    SEE ALSO...

Mucin 15 Antibody (H-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Mucin 15 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Mucin 15 (H-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Mucin 15 is a member of the mucin family, comprising highly glycosylated proteins that play critical roles in cell adhesion, signaling, and protection of epithelial cells. Mucin 15 is primarily located on the cell surface and within the extracellular matrix, where Mucin 15 contributes to forming a protective barrier against pathogens and particulate matter. Mucin 15 presence in various tissues, including prostate, testis, lung, spleen, thymus, ovary, small intestine, colon, bone marrow, lymph nodes, and peripheral blood leukocytes, underscores Mucin 15′s importance in maintaining mucosal integrity and facilitating cellular interactions. Mucin 15 is characterized by a variable number of tandem repeats, which can influence interactions with other proteins and overall function in cellular processes. Mucin 15′s ability to modulate adhesion to the extracellular matrix is particularly significant, as such modulation can impact cell migration and tissue repair mechanisms, making Mucin 15 a valuable target for research in cancer biology and regenerative medicine.

Are there any issues with using sc-365746: Mucin 15 (H-5) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

    Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-365746 conjugates.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It does not work in IF on FFPE tissue sectionsI used this Ab on paraffin embedded tissue sections at two dilutions (1:100 and 1:200) following the SC protocol for IF on such samples. I used a positive control, anti-MUC2, a sample previously and kindly provided by SC, which works well. It may be a matter of low expression
