    SEE ALSO...

MTHFD2 Antibody (D-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects MTHFD2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MTHFD2, also known as NMDMC, is a crucial bifunctional protein composed of 350 amino acids, playing a vital role in the interconversion of tetrahydrofolate derivatives, which are essential for the synthesis of purine, methionine, and thymidylate. MTHFD2 exhibits both methylenetetrahydrofolate dehydrogenase and methenyltetrahydrofolate cyclohydrolase activities, requiring NADP or NAD as cofactors for enzymatic functions. The activity of these cofactors is influenced by intracellular concentrations of magnesium and phosphate, highlighting the importance of cellular ion balance in metabolic processes. MTHFD2 operates as a homodimer and is predominantly localized in the mitochondria, where MTHFD2 is expressed during the development of normal tissue, underscoring its significance in cellular metabolism and energy production. Anti-MTHFD2 antibody (D-4) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying metabolic pathways and mitochondrial function in various biological contexts.
