MTBP Antibody (B-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects MTBP of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MTBP (B-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MTBP, also known as MDM2BP or MDM2 transformed 3T3 cell double minute 2, p53 binding protein, plays a crucial role in regulating MDM2 activity, a key negative regulator of tumor suppressor protein p53. By modulating MDM2′s function, MTBP contributes to p53 homeostasis balance, which is vital for cellular responses to stress and maintaining genomic integrity. MTBP enhances MDM2-mediated ubiquitination and degradation of p53 while stabilizing MDM2, thereby influencing cell cycle progression and apoptosis. MTBP expression is notably high in thymus, testis, and ovary, indicating potential involvement in reproductive and immune system functions.
