MsrB3 Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects MsrB3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MsrB3 (C-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MsrB3, also known as methionine-R-sulfoxide reductase B3, mitochondrial, is a 185 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in cellular redox homeostasis by catalyzing the reduction of free and protein-bound methionine sulfoxide back to methionine. This function helps protect cells from oxidative stress, which can lead to cellular damage and contribute to various diseases. MsrB3 is expressed in several tissues, including the colon, bone marrow, cerebellum, spinal cord, small intestine, heart, eye lens, and kidney, and exists as two alternatively spliced isoforms in humans: MsrB3 isoform 1 (MsrB3B), which is localized to the mitochondria, and isoform 2 (MsrB3A), which is found in the endoplasmic reticulum. In mice, MsrB3 is primarily localized to the endoplasmic reticulum, and no splice variants have been characterized. The gene encoding MsrB3 is located on human chromosome 12, a region associated with various genetic disorders, including hypochondrogenesis, achondrogenesis, Kniest dysplasia, Noonan syndrome, and trisomy 12p.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-514897 P appropriate for?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
