SEE ALSO...

mSin3A Antibody (G-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects mSin3A of mouse, rat, and human origin through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). mSin3A (G-11) antibody is offered in both non-conjugated and multiple conjugated forms, such as agarose, horseradish peroxidase, phycoerythrin, fluorescein isothiocyanate, and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates. mSin3A plays a crucial role in the regulation of gene expression, particularly in cell proliferation and differentiation, by functioning as a corepressor in transcriptional regulation. mSin3A interacts with the Mad family of proteins, which are essential for the repression of target genes when bound to the Myc-Max heterodimer. This interaction helps maintain the balance between cell growth and differentiation, preventing uncontrolled proliferation that can lead to tumorigenesis. mSin3A contains four conserved paired amphipathic helix (PAH) domains, which are important for interaction with Mad proteins, specifically through the second PAH domain (PAH2). By tethering mSin3A to DNA, the Mad-Max heterodimers effectively repress transcription, highlighting mSin3A′s importance in cellular processes and potential implications in cancer biology.
