SEE ALSO...

MSG1 Antibody (D-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MSG1 of mouse origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MSG1 (D-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MSG1, also known as CITED1, plays a crucial role in gene expression regulation, particularly in melanocytes, where MSG1 is involved in transcriptional activation of pigmentation-related genes. This function helps maintain melanocyte differentiation, essential for normal skin pigmentation and UV radiation protection. MSG1 expression is significantly higher in strongly pigmented melanoma cells compared to weakly pigmented cells, indicating MSG1′s potential role in melanoma progression and pigmentation regulation. MSG1 is localized in the nucleus and specifically expressed in melanocytes and testis, with human MSG1 sharing 75% sequence homology with mouse MSG1. Additionally, MSG1 features a serine/threonine-rich region, and studies have shown that a fusion protein containing MSG1 and a DNA-binding domain can activate transcription in mammalian cells, with this activation depending on MSG1′s acidic domain.

Are there any issues with using sc-393585: MSG1 (D-7) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-393585 conjugates.
