SEE ALSO...

MRP-L42 Antibody (H-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MRP-L42 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MRP-L42 (H-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MRP-L42, also known as mitochondrial ribosomal protein L42, is a crucial component of mitochondrial ribosomes, which are essential for protein synthesis within mitochondria. This 142 amino acid protein is part of the large 39S ribosomal subunit and the small 28S ribosomal subunit, working alongside other mitochondrial ribosomal proteins to facilitate the translation of mitochondrial mRNA into functional proteins. Proper functioning of MRP-L42 is vital, as MRP-L42 plays a significant role in maintaining mitochondrial health and energy production, which is critical for cellular metabolism and overall organismal vitality. The gene encoding MRP-L42 is located on human chromosome 12, a region associated with various genetic disorders, highlighting the importance of this protein in both normal physiology and disease contexts.
