MRP-L24 Antibody (B-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects MRP-L24 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MRP-L24 (B-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MRP-L24, consisting of 216 amino acids, plays a crucial role in mitochondrial function as a component of the 39S ribosomal subunit, which is essential for mitochondrial protein synthesis. MRP-L24 is localized within the mitochondrion, where MRP-L24 collaborates with other mitochondrial ribosomal proteins to facilitate the translation of mitochondrial mRNA into functional proteins, thereby supporting cellular energy production and metabolism. A KOW (Kyprides, Ouzounis, Woese) domain in MRP-L24 is significant, as this motif is commonly associated with ribosomal proteins and is believed to be involved in RNA binding, which is vital for the assembly and function of the ribosome. The gene encoding MRP-L24 is located on human chromosome 1, a region that encompasses approximately 260 million base pairs and accounts for nearly 8% of the human genome, highlighting MRP-L24′s importance in cellular biology and genetic regulation.
