MRCKγ Antibody (2C3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects the MRCK gamma protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MRCK gamma antibody (2C3) is available as a non-conjugated format. MRCK gamma protein, also known as CDC42BPG, plays a crucial role in cellular signaling and cytoskeletal dynamics, functioning as a serine/threonine protein kinase essential for various cellular processes, including cell migration and invasion. This 1551 amino acid cytoplasmic protein is expressed predominantly in skeletal muscle and heart tissues, existing as both a homodimer and homotetramer. MRCK gamma′s importance lies in acting as a downstream effector of small GTPase CDC42, which is vital for cytoskeletal reorganization. By regulating phosphorylation of key proteins such as MYPT1 and MYL2, MRCK gamma is instrumental in modulating actomyosin contractility, a process critical for effective cell movement and tissue remodeling. Additionally, MRCK gamma binds magnesium as a cofactor and has a strong association with GTP-bound CDC42, highlighting MRCK gamma′s role in cellular signaling pathways. The gene encoding MRCK gamma is located on human chromosome 11q13.1, making MRCK gamma an important target for studies related to muscle function and cellular motility.
