SEE ALSO...

MPDZ Antibody (43) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MPDZ protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-MPDZ antibody (43) is available as the non-conjugated isotype antibody. MPDZ protein, also known as multiple PDZ domain protein or MUPP1, is a 2,042 amino acid peripheral membrane protein that plays a crucial role in cellular signaling and structural organization. MPDZ (43) monoclonal antibody localizes predominantly on the apical membrane of epithelial choroid plexus cells, where MPDZ colocalizes with the serotonin receptor SR-2C, facilitating the clustering of this receptor at the cell surface. This interaction is vital for the regulation of serotonin signaling, which is essential for various physiological processes, including mood regulation and cognitive function. MPDZ is also a key component of the NMDAR signaling complex, influencing AMPAR potentiation and synaptic plasticity in excitatory synapses, thereby impacting learning and memory. Additionally, as a tight junction protein in epithelial cells, MPDZ interacts with the G-protein-coupled receptor SSTR3, playing a significant role in regulating transepithelial permeability in a pertussis toxin-sensitive manner. Furthermore, MPDZ may form complexes with other proteins, such as Kir4.2, in the nephron to regulate ion transport, highlighting its importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis. MPDZ contains one L27 domain and thirteen PDZ domains, which are critical for its interactions and functional versatility.

I am using MPDZ (43): sc-136293 antibody for immunoprecipitation, how much antibody should I use?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. We recommend using 1–10 µl (i.e., 0.2–2 µg) of antibody with 1 ml of cell lysate. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunoprecipitation protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoprecipitation-western-blots
