MOX-2 Antibody (A-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects MOX-2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MOX-2 (A-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MOX-2, also known as mesenchyme homeobox 2 or GAX, plays a crucial role in axial skeleton development, particularly in regulating myogenic genes essential for normal appendicular muscle formation. While MOX-2 is not required for myogenic precursor migration into the limb bud, MOX-2 expression is vital for differentiating these precursors into functional muscle tissue. Additionally, the human MEOX2 gene, which encodes MOX-2, is located on chromosome 7p21.1, and mutations in this gene have been associated with craniofacial and skeletal abnormalities. MOX-2 is expressed in placental tissue and is part of a homeobox protein family that includes MOX-1, which interacts with Pax-1, while MOX-2 preferentially associates with Pax-3, highlighting MOX-2′s importance in early mesoderm formation during gastrulation.
