Mog1p Antibody (F-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Mog1p protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Mog1p antibody (F-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Mog1p, also known as RanGNRF (Ran guanine nucleotide release factor) or Ran-binding protein MOG1, is a crucial 186 amino acid protein that plays a significant role in regulating intracellular trafficking of small Ras-related protein, Ran, which is essential for various cellular processes such as DNA replication, mitosis, and transport of RNA and proteins through nuclear pore complex. Located in both nucleus and cytoplasm, Mog1p shuttles between these compartments, facilitating GDP release from Ran, thereby promoting active GTP-bound state. This function is vital for maintaining proper cellular function and signaling pathways. Mog1p has been identified as a monomer that interacts with Ran and Na+ CP type Vα, and forms a complex with Ran and Ran BP-1. Additionally, Mog1p exists in four isoforms produced by alternative splicing, with isoforms one and two being expressed ubiquitously, highlighting Mog1p′s versatility and importance in cellular dynamics.
