Mlx Antibody (F-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Mlx protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Mlx (F-12) antibody is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Mlx protein, also known as Max-like protein X, functions as a bHLH-Zip transcription factor regulating gene expression related to cell growth, proliferation, and apoptosis. Mlx protein localizes primarily in the nucleus, forming homodimers or heterodimers with Myc family proteins, including Myc, Mad1, Mad3, Mad4, Mxi1, and Mnt, to bind to E-box sequence CACGTG. This interaction regulates target genes, influencing cellular processes and maintaining homeostasis. Mlx protein interacts with Mondo family proteins, particularly MondoA, which forms weak homodimers but preferentially heterodimerizes with Mlx for nuanced transcription regulation. MondoA/Mlx complex predominantly resides in the cytoplasm but moves to the nucleus in response to specific stimuli like leptomycin B, demonstrating Mlx protein′s dynamic role in cellular signaling pathways. Mlx protein′s ability to dimerize with WBSCR14, implicated in Williams-Beuren syndrome, highlights its importance in transcription factor networks and cellular function.
