SEE ALSO...

MIS Antibody (B-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the Müllerian inhibiting substance (MIS) protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MIS antibody (B-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MIS, a member of the transforming growth factor beta (TGFβ) superfamily, plays a crucial role in sexual differentiation during embryonic development by inhibiting the development of the Müllerian ducts in male embryos, thereby preventing the formation of female reproductive structures. This function ensures proper development of male reproductive organs, and absence can lead to disorders of sexual development. Additionally, MIS has been implicated in tumor suppression, particularly in tumors derived from Müllerian duct tissues, highlighting potential as a therapeutic target in certain cancers. MIS production occurs in Sertoli cells of the testes, and secretion, along with testosterone, is essential for male offspring development. The presence of both hormones leads to regression of the Müllerian ducts and differentiation of the Wolffian ducts, establishing male reproductive anatomy.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-166752 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work in methanol fixed mouse tissueThis antibody does not work in mouse ovary tissue sections that are paraformaldehyde fixed with methanol post-fix. The tissue showed no staining, at least it isn't non-specific.
