SEE ALSO...

MIP-1α Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects MIP-1 alpha protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MIP-1α antibody (C-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MIP-1α, a member of the C-C chemokine subfamily, plays a crucial role in the immune response by acting as a potent chemoattractant for monocytes and T cells, which are essential for mounting an effective immune defense. MIP-1α′s ability to attract CD8+ T lymphocytes is particularly significant, as these cells produce HIV-suppressive factors that can inhibit HIV infection. Research indicates that MIP-1α, along with MIP-1β and RANTES, is one of the major factors secreted by CD8+ T cells that contribute to the control of HIV, highlighting MIP-1α′s importance in both viral suppression and immune regulation. The diverse applications of MIP-1α monoclonal antibody (C-5) make this reagent an invaluable tool for researchers studying immune responses, chemokine signaling, and the mechanisms of viral infections.
