SEE ALSO...

Mimitin Antibody (H-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Mimitin protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Mimitin antibody (H-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Mimitin, also known as Myc-induced mitochondrial protein (MMTN), is localized exclusively to the mitochondrion, which is crucial for its role in cellular metabolism and energy production. This localization allows Mimitin to participate in the regulation of mitochondrial function, particularly in the context of Myc-driven cellular processes. As a direct transcriptional target of c-Myc, Mimitin is involved in the modulation of gene expression that influences cell proliferation and survival, making Mimitin a significant player in oncogenic pathways. Notably, while Mimitin is highly expressed in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) cells, Mimitin expression does not correlate with the histopathological stage or grade of the cancer, suggesting a complex role in tumor biology.

Can Mimitin (H-11): sc-365592 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. Yes, Mimitin (H-11): sc-365592 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
