    SEE ALSO...

MIG Antibody (A-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects MIG protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MIG antibody (A-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MIG, also known as monokine induced by interferon-gamma or chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 9 (CXCL9), plays a crucial role in T cell trafficking and has been shown to inhibit angiogenesis while exhibiting thymus-dependent anti-tumor effects. MIG is secreted and primarily functions in the immune response, particularly in recruiting T cells to sites of inflammation or tumor growth, which is vital for effective immune surveillance and response. Notably, MIG mRNA expression in human carcinoma line HSC-2 is induced by interferon-gamma, while other lines such as Ca9-22 and glioma line A172 do not express MIG mRNA, highlighting specific regulatory mechanisms. Additionally, elevated serum levels of MIG and CXCL10 in ocular sarcoidosis have been correlated with disease activity and angiotensin-converting enzyme levels, indicating potential as a biomarker for disease progression. The Gα i protein-coupled receptor CXCR3 binds MIG, which is released from intestinal epithelium, further emphasizing MIG′s role in mediating immune responses. MIG can inhibit responses induced by platelet activating factor and leukotriene B4, as well as block eotaxin-induced filamentous actin formation and chemoattraction, showcasing multifaceted involvement in immune regulation. As part of a larger family of chemokines, MIG interacts with a subset of seven transmembrane, G protein-coupled receptors, underscoring importance in the complex network of immune signaling.
