MICB Antibody (9847-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects MICB in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB) and flow cytometry (FCM). MICB, or MHC class I polypeptide-related sequence B, is a heavily glycosylated transmembrane protein that plays a crucial role in the immune response by serving as a stress-induced ligand for the NKG2-D receptor, which is present on natural killer cells, CD8+αβ T cells, and γδ T cells. This interaction is vital for activating the cytolytic response, thereby enhancing the host′s defense against virus-infected and tumor cells. Notably, MICB is predominantly expressed in epithelial cells, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts, where MICB functions to signal cellular distress and trigger immune responses, particularly in the intestinal epithelium. MICB shares a high degree of identity with MICA, with 91% sequence similarity, yet MICB is functionally distinct from conventional MHC class I molecules, as MICB does not require β-2-microglobulin for stability. The ability of MICB to evoke immune responses highlights MICB′s importance in maintaining immune surveillance and responding to cellular stress, making MICB a significant target for research in immunology and cancer therapy. Anti-MICB antibody (9847-1) is an essential tool for researchers aiming to explore the dynamics of immune responses and the role of stress-induced ligands in various pathological conditions.
