SEE ALSO...

MICA Antibody (2C10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the MICA protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and flow cytometry (FCM). MICA (2C10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MICA, a member of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I family, plays a crucial role in the immune response by acting as a stress-induced ligand for natural killer (NK) cells and certain T cells. MICA expression is particularly important in tumor immunology, as MICA is often upregulated in epithelial tumors, signaling cellular distress and potentially triggering immune responses. This highly glycosylated cell surface protein is unique in expressing independently of conventional class I peptide ligands and not requiring association with beta-2-microglobulin. MICA recognition by intestinal epithelial Vδ1 γδ T cells, which express diverse T cell receptors, underscores MICA′s significance in mediating immune surveillance and responses in the intestinal epithelium, particularly during conditions of cellular stress.

Can MICA (2C10): sc-23870 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, MICA (2C10): sc-23870 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
