MIB1 Antibody (D-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects MIB1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MIB1 (D-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MIB1, also known as E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase MIB1 or Mind bomb homolog 1, is a crucial 1006 amino acid E3 ubiquitin ligase that plays a significant role in activating the Notch signaling pathway by ubiquitylating the Notch ligand, Delta. This process involves MIB1 binding to the intracellular domain of Delta, facilitating endocytosis and subsequent degradation of the Delta receptor, ultimately leading to increased Notch receptor activity. This regulatory mechanism is vital for proper cell fate decisions during development, influencing various cellular processes, including differentiation and apoptosis. MIB1 is predominantly expressed in the central nervous system and ovary, and MIB1′s interaction with DAPK, a protein involved in apoptosis regulation, suggests a complex interplay that may contribute to tumor growth when MIB1 is overexpressed. Notably, MIB1 and DAPK are found to be overexpressed in epileptic brain tissue, indicating their potential cooperative role in regulating neuronal death in epilepsy.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with MIB1 (D-6): sc-393551?

Asked by: jenniferc
We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety
