SEE ALSO...

MHC class II Antibody (IBL-5/22) is a rat monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects MHC class II of mouse origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-MHC class II antibody (IBL-5/22) is available as the non-conjugated form. Major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class II molecules play a crucial role in the immune response by presenting processed exogenous antigens to CD4+ T lymphocytes, which are essential for orchestrating adaptive immunity. These molecules are primarily located on the surface of professional antigen-presenting cells, such as dendritic cells, macrophages, and B cells, where they facilitate the activation of helper T cells. The ability of MHC class II molecules to bind and present longer peptides, typically ranging from 13 to 18 amino acids, is vital for the recognition of a diverse array of antigens, thereby enhancing the immune system′s capacity to respond to various pathogens. Additionally, the interaction of MHC class II with co-stimulatory signals is critical for T cell activation, making these molecules indispensable for effective immune surveillance and response. The differential structural properties of MHC class II, including the non-covalent association of its α and β chains, allow for a unique peptide-binding groove that stabilizes the presented antigens, further underscoring the importance of MHC class II in immune function.
