SEE ALSO...

MGAT1 Antibody (H-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MGAT1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MGAT1 (H-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MGAT1 protein, also known as monoacylglycerol O-acyltransferase 1, plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism by catalyzing the conversion of diacylglycerol to triacylglycerol, a key process in lipoprotein synthesis that transport dietary fats throughout the body. This function is particularly important for intestinal absorption of dietary fats, as triacylglycerol resynthesis is essential for assembling lipoproteins that facilitate absorbed fat transport to various tissues. MGAT1 expression occurs in the stomach, kidney, liver, and adipose tissue, but remains absent in the intestine, distinguishing MGAT1 from MGAT2, which is predominantly expressed in the small intestine and plays a different role in lipid metabolism. Understanding specific expression patterns and functions of MGAT1 remains vital for elucidating contributions to metabolic processes and potential implications in metabolic disorders.
