Mex3c Antibody (D-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Mex3c of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Mex3c (D-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Mex3c, also known as RING finger and KH domain-containing protein 2, is a 659 amino acid RNA-binding protein that plays a crucial role in post-transcriptional regulation. Mex3c is predominantly expressed in the fetal brain and testis, highlighting its importance in developmental processes. Notably, Mex3c is part of a family of four evolutionarily conserved homologs in humans, which includes Mex3a, Mex3b, and Mex3d. These proteins are characterized by their two tandemly repeated KH domains and a C-terminal RING finger motif, which are essential for RNA-binding capabilities. Mex3c shuttles between the nucleus and cytoplasm via the CRM1-dependent export pathway, suggesting involvement in regulating gene expression and maintaining cellular homeostasis. Additionally, genetic variations in Mex3c have been linked to an increased risk of essential hypertension type 8, underscoring potential significance in cardiovascular health.
