METTL3 Antibody (D-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects METTL3 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). METTL3 (D-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. METTL3, also known as methyltransferase like 3, M6A, IME4, Spo8, or MT-A70, is a 580 amino acid protein predominantly located in the nucleus, where METTL3 plays a crucial role in RNA metabolism. As a member of the methyltransferase superfamily, METTL3 is responsible for the methylation of adenosine residues in mRNA, specifically at the N6 position, which is vital for regulating mRNA splicing, transport, and translation efficiency. This post-translational modification is essential for the stability and functionality of mRNA, influencing gene expression and cellular responses. The gene encoding METTL3 is situated on human chromosome 14, which contains over 700 genes and constitutes nearly 3.5% of the human genome. Notably, METTL3 is produced through alternative splicing, resulting in two distinct isoforms, further underscoring METTL3′s complexity and importance in cellular processes.
