Datasheets
  • MEL-1A/B-R Antibody (B-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgM κ, cited in 11 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against amino acids 161-280 mapping within an internal region of MEL-1A-R of human origin
  • recommended for detection of MEL-1A-R and MEL-1B-R of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • m-IgGκ BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for MEL-1A/B-R Antibody (B-8) for WB applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with MEL-1A/B-R Antibody (B-8) (see ordering information below). For additional m-IgGκ BP conjugates see our complete list of Mouse IgG Binding Proteins.

SEE ALSO...

MEL-1A/B-R Antibody (B-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects MEL-1A/B-R in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MEL-1A/B-R antibody (B-8) is available in a non-conjugated form, allowing for versatile experimental use. MEL-1A-R and MEL-1B-R proteins function as G protein-coupled receptors that mediate physiological responses to melatonin, a hormone secreted by the pineal gland primarily at night. These receptors regulate circadian rhythms and play significant roles in reproductive development and tumorigenesis. The seven transmembrane domain structure enables interaction with melatonin and initiates intracellular signaling cascades, inhibiting adenylate cyclase and stimulating phospholipase Cb for downstream effects on cellular growth and function. Understanding MEL-1A-R and MEL-1B-R structure and function helps explain their roles in health and disease, particularly in circadian rhythm disorders and cancer.

any blocking peptide available for MEL-1A/B-R? Why not separate antibody for specific MT1 and MT2 receptors?

Asked by: Tavleen
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately there is no blocking peptide available for this antibody as it was not made against a peptide. We would suggest using a negative control using a control IgG. We do not offer separate antibodies for the two receptors currently.

Are there any issues with using sc-398788: MEL-1A/B-R (B-8) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-398788 conjugates.
