SEE ALSO...

Med8 Antibody (A-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Med8 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Med8 (A-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Med8, also known as mediator complex subunit 8 or arc32, is a crucial 268 amino acid component of the mediator complex, which plays a vital role in regulating transcription in mammalian cells. Med8 is primarily located in the nucleus, where Med8 acts as a bridge between transcriptional activators and RNA polymerase II, facilitating gene transcription. Proper functioning of Med8 is essential for effective gene expression, as Med8 helps coordinate complex interactions necessary for transcriptional regulation. Additionally, Med8 is involved in post-translational modifications and ubiquitination processes, which are critical for degrading proteins that are no longer needed, thus maintaining cellular homeostasis. Notably, multiple isoforms of Med8 arise from alternative splicing, allowing for diverse regulatory functions within the cell.
