SEE ALSO...

Med31 Antibody (3-9D) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Med31 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Med31 (3-9D) antibody is available as the non-conjugated anti-Med31 monoclonal isotype antibody. Med31, also known as mediator of RNA polymerase II transcription subunit 31, Soh1, or CGI-125, is a 131 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in the regulation of gene expression. Med31 (3-9D) monoclonal antibody is a key component of the Mediator complex, which serves as a bridge between transcriptional activators and the basal transcription machinery, facilitating the assembly of a functional preinitiation complex with RNA polymerase II and general transcription factors. The importance of Med31 lies in its evolutionary conservation and essential function in coordinating cellular processes by regulating the expression of large sets of genes. Notably, Med31 is required for normal levels of gene conversion during meiosis, highlighting its significance in reproductive biology and genetic diversity. Using anti-Med31 antibody (3-9D) in research can provide valuable insights into the mechanisms of transcription regulation and the broader implications for cellular function and development.

Can sc-101189: Med31 (3-9D) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-101189: Med31 (3-9D) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
