SEE ALSO...

MCM7 Antibody (DCS-141) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MCM7 in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MCM7 (DCS-141) antibody is available in a non-conjugated form, allowing for versatile experimental use. The mini-chromosome maintenance (MCM) family, which includes MCM2, MCM3, MCM4, MCM5, MCM6, and MCM7, plays a crucial role in regulating DNA replication, ensuring that DNA is replicated only once per cell cycle. MCM7 is essential for the formation of the MCM2-7 complex, which acts as a helicase during DNA replication, unwinding the double-stranded DNA to allow for the synthesis of new strands. This helicase activity is vital for maintaining genomic stability and preventing replication errors, which can lead to mutations and cancer. The expression of MCM proteins, including MCM7, is tightly regulated throughout the cell cycle, peaking during the transition from the G1 to S phase, and is influenced by E2F transcription factors and various protein kinases. Understanding MCM7 function and regulation is important for elucidating DNA replication mechanisms and potential implications in cancer biology, making anti-MCM7 antibody (DCS-141) a valuable tool for researchers studying cell cycle dynamics and genomic integrity.

I am using MCM7 (DCS-141): sc-65469 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
