SEE ALSO...

MCM7 Antibody (47DC141) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects MCM7 in mouse, rat, human, Xenopus, and canine samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MCM7, a member of the mini-chromosome maintenance (MCM) protein family, plays a crucial role in the regulation of DNA replication, ensuring that DNA is replicated only once per cell cycle. MCM7 is vital for maintaining genomic stability and preventing over-replication, which can lead to genomic instability and cancer. MCM7, along with other MCM proteins, is essential for the formation of the MCM2-7 complex, which acts as a helicase during DNA replication, unwinding the double-stranded DNA to allow for the synthesis of new strands. MCM7 expression is tightly regulated, peaking during the transition from the G1 to S phase of the cell cycle, and is influenced by various factors, including E2F transcription factors and protein kinases. MCM7′s ability to interact with other proteins in the MCM complex underscores its importance in the orchestration of DNA replication and cell cycle progression, making MCM7 a significant target for research in cancer biology and cell cycle regulation.

I am using MCM7 (47DC141): sc-56324 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: jenniferc
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
