MCM3 Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MCM3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MCM3 (E-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The mini-chromosome maintenance (MCM) family of proteins, which includes MCM2, MCM3, MCM4, MCM5, MCM6, and MCM7, plays a crucial role in regulating DNA replication, ensuring that replication occurs only once per cell cycle. MCM3 is essential for forming the MCM2-7 complex, which acts as a helicase during DNA unwinding, a critical step for DNA replication. Proper functioning of MCM3 maintains genomic stability, as any dysregulation can lead to uncontrolled cell proliferation and contribute to oncogenesis. MCM proteins undergo various post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation, which can influence activity and interactions with other proteins. Phosphorylation of MCM3 can modulate association with cell cycle regulatory proteins, thereby impacting the timing of DNA replication initiation. Understanding these interactions and modifications helps elucidate mechanisms of cell cycle regulation and potential implications in cancer biology.
