MBTD1 Antibody (H-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MBTD1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MBTD1 (H-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MBTD1, or malignant brain tumor domain containing 1, plays a crucial role in gene expression regulation as a member of the Polycomb-group (PcG) family, which ensures stable inheritance of gene activity across cell generations. Located primarily in the nucleus, MBTD1 forms multimeric protein complexes that maintain transcriptional repressive state of target genes, influencing cellular differentiation and development. MBTD1 consists of 628 amino acids and features one FCS-type zinc finger and four MBT repeats, with MBTD1 gene mapped to human chromosome 17q21.33, a region associated with key tumor suppressor genes such as p53 and BRCA1. MBTD1 undergoes alternative splicing to produce three isoforms, highlighting functional diversity and importance in cellular processes.
