SEE ALSO...

MBD1 Antibody (B-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MBD1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MBD1 Antibody (B-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MBD1 protein plays a crucial role in gene expression regulation through interaction with methylated DNA, specifically binding to methyl-CpG sites found in gene promoter regions. This binding mediates transcriptional repression, a process vital for normal cellular function and development. MBD1′s recognition and binding to methylated regions enables recruitment of other proteins, such as histone deacetylases, to form repressor complexes that silence gene expression. MBD1′s importance extends beyond transcriptional regulation, involving processes such as genomic stability and cellular identity maintenance. Since MBD proteins show highest expression in somatic tissues, anti-MBD1 antibody (B-5) serves as a valuable tool for researchers studying epigenetic regulation and implications in various biological contexts, including development, differentiation, and disease.
