SEE ALSO...

Mat1 Antibody (F-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Mat1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Mat1 (F-6) antibody is offered in both non-conjugated and multiple conjugated forms, such as agarose, horseradish peroxidase, phycoerythrin, fluorescein isothiocyanate, and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Mat1 plays a crucial role in the regulation of cyclin-dependent kinases (Cdks), which are essential for cell cycle progression. Mat1 functions as a key component of the cyclin H-Cdk7 complex, which is vital for the activation of Cdks through phosphorylation. This interaction is critical because the activation of Cdks is necessary for the transition between different phases of the cell cycle, ensuring proper cell division and function. Mat1 not only facilitates the assembly of the cyclin H-Cdk7 complex but also enhances kinase activity, thereby influencing the phosphorylation of target proteins such as Cdk2 and RNA polymerase II. Understanding Mat1′s role in Cdk activation provides insights into mechanisms governing cell cycle regulation and implications in various biological processes and diseases.

Can Mat1 (F-6): sc-13142 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, Mat1 (F-6): sc-13142 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
