MASP-1/3 Antibody (F-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects MASP-1/3 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MASP-1/3 antibody (F-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MASP-1/3 plays a crucial role in the immune system, particularly in activating the lectin pathway of the complement system, which is essential for innate immune response. This pathway begins when mannose-binding lectin (MBL) binds to pathogen surfaces, leading to MASP-1 and MASP-3 recruitment and activation, which then cleave and activate downstream complement components. MASP-1/3 enhances immune response against infections, and mutations in associated MBL can lead to immunodeficiency, highlighting MASP-1/3′s critical role in maintaining immune function. MASP-1 and MASP-3 share identical heavy chains while having different light chains, which determines specific interactions and functions within complement activation.
