MARK2 Antibody (B-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MARK2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MARK2 (B-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Microtubule affinity-regulating kinase 2 (MARK2), also known as EMK1 (ELKL motif kinase 1) or Par1b, is a 788 amino acid protein that belongs to the protein kinase superfamily, specifically the MARK subfamily. MARK2 is predominantly expressed in the heart, brain, skeletal muscle, and pancreas, playing a crucial role in the asymmetric development of membrane domains around polarized epithelial cells, which is vital for maintaining cellular organization and function. MARK2 activation through phosphorylation at Thr 208 is essential for influencing the differentiation of epithelial cells, determining whether they adopt a columnar or hepatic morphology. Structurally, MARK2 features one kinase-associated domain, one protein kinase domain, and one ubiquitin-associated domain, and exists as 14 isoforms generated by alternative splicing, some of which may be implicated in graft rejection.
