MAPKAPK-2 Antibody (35-I) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects MAPKAPK-2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MAPKAPK-2, also known as MAP kinase-activated protein kinase 2, plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways, particularly in response to stress and inflammatory stimuli. MAPKAPK-2 is primarily located in the cytoplasm and is activated by upstream MAP kinases such as ERK and p38, which phosphorylate MAPKAPK-2 on specific serine residues. MAPKAPK-2 activation is vital for regulating downstream targets involved in cell survival, proliferation, and differentiation, making MAPKAPK-2 an important player in various physiological and pathological processes, including cancer and neurodegenerative diseases. Additionally, MAPKAPK-2 interacts with other proteins such as ribosomal protein S6 and eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E, linking MAPKAPK-2 to the regulation of protein synthesis and cellular growth. MAPKAPK-2′s ability to modulate these interactions highlights MAPKAPK-2′s significance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to environmental changes, underscoring anti-MAPKAPK-2 antibody (35-I)′s importance in research focused on signaling pathways and disease mechanisms.

Can sc-100393: MAPKAPK-2 (35-I) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-100393: MAPKAPK-2 (35-I) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
