Datasheets
  • MAP-1B Antibody (AA6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 κ, cited in 4 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against brain microtubule associated proteins of rat origin
  • recommended for detection of MAP-1B of mouse, rat, human, bovine and feline origin by WB, IF and IHC(P); non cross-reactive with tubulin of other Microtubule associated proteins
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP and m-IgG1 BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for MAP-1B Antibody (AA6) for WB and IHC(P) applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with MAP-1B Antibody (AA6) (see ordering information below).

SEE ALSO...

MAP-1B Antibody (AA6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects MAP-1B in mouse, rat, human, bovine, and feline samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). MAP-1B plays a crucial role in the stabilization and assembly of microtubules, which are essential components of the cytoskeleton that provide structural support and shape to cells. MAP-1B is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where MAP-1B interacts with tubulin to promote microtubule formation and stability, thereby influencing cellular processes such as intracellular transport, cell division, and maintenance of cell shape. Proper functioning of MAP-1B is vital for neuronal development and function, as MAP-1B helps maintain the integrity of neuronal processes and supports synaptic stability. Dysregulation of MAP-1B has been linked to various neurodegenerative diseases, highlighting MAP-1B′s importance in maintaining cellular health and function. Anti-MAP-1B antibody (AA6) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying microtubule dynamics and their implications in cellular processes and disease states.

Can MAP-1B (AA6): sc-58784 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. Yes, MAP-1B (AA6): sc-58784 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
