SEE ALSO...

MAGOH Antibody (F-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects MAGOH in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MAGOH plays a vital role in embryo development and is ubiquitously expressed across various adult tissues, highlighting MAGOH′s importance in cellular functions. MAGOH features a unique structure characterized by an extremely flat, six-stranded anti-parallel β sheet adjacent to two helices, which is crucial for MAGOH′s interaction with Y14 protein. This interaction forms a complex essential for post-splicing processing, including nuclear export and cytoplasmic localization of mRNA, as well as the surveillance process known as nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD). The MAGOH-Y14 complex remains associated with mRNA even after export to the cytoplasm, necessitating translation for eventual removal. This persistent association underscores MAGOH-Y14′s role in stabilizing the exon-exon junction complex-mRNA at splice junctions, thereby illustrating the intricate mechanisms of pre-mRNA splicing and implications for gene expression regulation.
