MAGOH Antibody (21B12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects MAGOH protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-MAGOH antibody (21B12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MAGOH, a human homolog of the Drosophila mago nashi, plays a vital role in embryo development and is ubiquitously expressed across adult tissues. MAGOH has a unique structure characterized by an extremely flat, six-stranded anti-parallel β sheet adjacent to two helices, which is essential for its function. This structural configuration facilitates the interaction between MAGOH and Y14 protein, forming a complex integral to post-splicing processing, including nuclear export and cytoplasmic localization of mRNA, as well as nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD) surveillance process. MAGOH-Y14 complex persistence on mRNA after cytoplasmic export ensures stability of exon-exon junction complex-mRNA at splice junctions, demonstrating a key mechanism in pre-mRNA splicing machinery.
