SEE ALSO...

MafB Antibody (F-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects MafB protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MafB antibody (F-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MafB, a member of the basic region/leucine zipper (bZIP) transcription factor family, plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression during hematopoiesis, particularly by repressing Ets-1-mediated transcription of key erythroid-specific genes in myeloid cells. This regulation is vital for proper blood cell development and differentiation, as it ensures that the expression of genes necessary for erythroid lineage is tightly controlled. MafB is expressed across various tissues and contains a characteristic bZIP motif in its carboxy-terminal region, which facilitates its function as a transcriptional activator. Additionally, MafB interacts with other transcription factors, such as c-Myb, to form complexes that mediate cooperative interactions essential for early myeloid cell differentiation. The ability of MafB to modulate transcriptional activity based on its protein partners highlights its importance in developmental processes and cellular responses, making MafB (F-11) monoclonal antibody an invaluable tool for researchers studying hematopoiesis and related pathways.

I am trying to establish a ChIP-seq protocol for MafB and I would be interested in testing the MafB Antibody (F-11): sc-74521. Would that be possible to obtain a free sample? Do you have any suggestions regarding other antibodies that I could use?

Asked by: natoch
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we are not yet aware of any publications citing use of either of our MafB antibodies for ChIP. We do recommend and warranty both antibodies for use in ChIP if you purchase the TransCruz reagent (sc-74521 X). For a limited time, we are offering a free 10 µg sample of this antibody. Please contact our Technical Service Department if you would like to test the antibody before placing your order. Please call our European Support office toll-free at 00800 4573 8000, email europe@scbt.com, or contact us by live chat.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-74521 X be used instead of the standard form sc-74521?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
