MAD2L1BP Antibody (4-RE23) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects MAD2L1BP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MAD2L1BP antibody (4-RE23) is available as a non-conjugated format. MAD2L1BP, also known as CMT2, is a crucial 274 amino acid protein that plays a significant role in the cell cycle, particularly during mitosis. MAD2L1BP is primarily located in the nucleoplasm during early mitosis and transitions to the spindle during metaphase through anaphase, highlighting MAD2L1BP′s importance in ensuring proper chromosome segregation. As a key component of the spindle checkpoint, MAD2L1BP helps delay the onset of anaphase until all kinetochores are properly attached, thereby preventing errors in chromosome distribution that could lead to aneuploidy. MAD2L1BP interacts with MAD2, which is essential for silencing the spindle checkpoint and allowing mitosis to proceed smoothly. The gene encoding MAD2L1BP is located on human chromosome 6, which is notable for containing a substantial portion of the human genome, and MAD2L1BP is expressed in multiple alternatively spliced isoforms that may undergo phosphorylation by ATM or ATR in response to DNA damage, further underscoring MAD2L1BP′s role in maintaining genomic stability.
