SEE ALSO...

mAChR M1 Antibody (G-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects mAChR M1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-mAChR M1 antibody (G-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The muscarinic acetylcholine receptor M1 (mAChR M1) plays a crucial role in mediating cellular responses, such as adenylate cyclase inhibition and potassium channel modulation, which maintain cellular homeostasis and facilitate neuron communication. mAChR M1 is primarily located in the central nervous system and peripheral tissues, where mAChR M1 influences cognitive functions, memory, and autonomic nervous system responses. mAChR M1 belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor family, featuring seven transmembrane domains and a unique intracellular region that interacts with specific G-proteins to initiate downstream signaling pathways. Understanding mAChR M1′s function and location is vital for elucidating its role in various physiological processes and potential implications in neurological disorders.

Does this antibody also work with mouse brain extracts? I could not find neither an example western blot nor a paper reference with this antibody with mouse brain samples? we would like to use it with hippocampus lysates in a western blot..

Asked by: Yunus Emre
Thank you for your question. We currently have no data on the reactivity of this antibody in mouse brain extracts in western blot. However, our one-year warranty covers this application, so if it does not work as expected please contact our Technical Service by phone, email or by Live Chat and if we cannot resolve the issue, we will provide an appropriate replacement free of charge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best Chrm1/M1R/M1 antibody ever seen on earthThis one is my favorite antibody. Allow me to explain why!. Muscarinic receptors have 5 suptypes (1-5) with conserved sequence homology, so making a subtype specific antibody will require to choose the epitope carefully and that depends on experience, knowledge and expertise. Previously, I have been FRUSTRATED with costly M1R antibody purchased from Alomone labs Ltd (cat: AMR-001) that cost >700$ a vial. It was simply a garbage antibody and spend tons of time to figure out whether it was the antibody or my technique/nature of tissue etc. THEN I GOT SCBT (SC365966) ANTIBODY, and I am so satisfied. The antibody is highly subtype specific, see the attached bot, in which I cloned and expressed GFP-tagged 5 mAChr subtypes and validated the M1R subtype specificity by anti-GFP antibody (use 1:1000 dilution). In addition this antibody is superb for Immunoprecipitation.
