    SEE ALSO...

M83 Antibody (B-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects M83 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). M83 (B-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. M83, also known as TMEM8A (transmembrane protein 8A), is a 771 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role in cell surface adhesion, which is vital for maintaining cellular interactions and tissue integrity. As a member of the TMEM8 family, M83 is predominantly expressed in the spleen, liver, pancreas, placenta, tonsil, bone marrow, kidney, and peripheral blood leukocytes, highlighting its importance in immune function and tissue homeostasis. M83 contains one epidermal growth factor-like domain, which is significant for its role in maintaining T-cells in their resting state, thereby influencing immune responses. The gene encoding M83 is located on human chromosome 16, a region associated with various genetic disorders, including giant axonal neuropathy and Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome, as well as Crohn′s disease, underscoring M83′s potential implications in both health and disease.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-398790 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
