Ly-6D Antibody (C-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Ly-6D protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Ly-6D (C-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Ly-6D protein, also known as E48 antigen, is a 128 amino acid glycoprotein predominantly expressed in squamous cell carcinoma cell lines and squamous cell epithelial tissues. Ly-6D′s structure includes a signal peptide, two theoretical phosphorylation sites, and three putative myristoylation sites, which are crucial for function and localization within the cell. Post-translational modifications can significantly influence Ly-6D′s stability, interactions, and overall activity, making them vital for understanding its role in cancer biology. Notably, upregulation of Ly-6D in head and neck cancers is associated with poor prognosis, and high expression levels have been linked to enhanced cell migration. Anti-Ly-6D antibody (C-8) is frequently utilized as a molecular marker for diagnosis and therapy of head-and-neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Research suggests Ly-6D may regulate expression levels of certain fucosylated E-selectin ligands and protein FX, involved in GDP-L-fucose synthesis in HNSCC cell lines. These findings indicate Ly-6D may play a critical role in tumor cell adhesion within inflamed vessel walls expressing E-selectin, highlighting potential as a therapeutic target in cancer treatment.
