SEE ALSO...

Lunatic Fringe Antibody (TT-07) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Lunatic Fringe protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Lunatic Fringe antibody (TT-07) is available as the non-conjugated form. Lunatic Fringe protein, also known as LFNG or SCDO3, is a 379 amino acid single-pass type II membrane protein primarily localized to the membrane of the Golgi apparatus. This localization enables Lunatic Fringe to function effectively as a glycosyltransferase, playing a vital role in somite patterning and segmentation during embryonic development. Specifically, Lunatic Fringe initiates the elongation of O-linked fucose residues on Notch molecules, which is essential for proper signaling in the Notch pathway. Disruptions in the gene encoding Lunatic Fringe can lead to autosomal recessive spondylocostal dysostosis 3 (SCDO3), a developmental disorder characterized by rib anomalies and vertebral segmentation issues. Additionally, alternative splicing of the Lunatic Fringe gene results in the expression of three distinct isoforms, further highlighting the complexity and importance of this protein in developmental biology.
