LSP1 Antibody (16) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects LSP1 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). LSP1 is a hematopoietic-expressed gene that encodes a leukocyte-specific, F-actin-binding phosphoprotein, playing a crucial role in the immune response by regulating leukocyte functions, including cell motility and chemotaxis. LSP1 is predominantly expressed in B and T lymphocytes, granulocytes, and macrophages, but mRNA splice variants that do not encode the lymphocyte-specific protein are also found in non-lymphoid cell lines, such as myocytes, stromal cells, and fibroblasts, indicating a potential divergent role in signal transduction. The LSP1 locus is located on human chromosome 11p15.5, a region associated with tumor-related chromosomal translocations in chronic lymphocytic leukemia, highlighting LSP1′s significance in cancer biology. The LSP1 promoter contains essential elements that regulate transcriptional activity, including an initiator that defines the unique 5′ terminus of LSP1 mRNA, tandem pairs of Ets and SP1 motifs, and a single C/EBP motif, which are critical for expression. Through cytoskeleton binding, LSP1 is implicated in cytoskeletal remodeling, which is vital for various leukocyte functions, making LSP1 an important target for research in immunology and cancer.
