LRP5 Antibody (F-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects LRP5 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LRP5 plays a crucial role as a Wnt coreceptor, which is essential for the regulation of the canonical Wnt signaling pathway, a key mechanism in cellular communication that influences various biological processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, and tissue homeostasis. LRP5 expression in the tibia of rats, particularly in regions involved in bone remodeling, helps regulate bone mass accrual during growth. Mutations in the LRP5 gene can lead to the autosomal recessive disorder osteoporosis-pseudoglioma syndrome (OPPG), highlighting LRP5′s critical function in maintaining bone density and overall skeletal health. The gene encoding LRP5 is located on human chromosome 11q13.4, and LRP5′s unique structure, characterized by a distinct arrangement of epidermal growth factor-like and low-density lipoprotein receptor repeats, sets LRP5 apart from other members of the LDL receptor gene family, further emphasizing LRP5′s specialized role in cellular signaling and bone physiology. Anti-LRP5 antibody (F-11) is an invaluable tool for researchers investigating the intricate mechanisms of Wnt signaling and its implications in bone-related disorders.
